David Wray played drums professionally for 17 years, touring the world opening shows for The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and The Doors among many. He was the first tenured professor in Music Business at the University of Memphis, where he rebuilt the Music Industry Division (music business and recording) resulting in it being named one of the top 5 in the country by People magazine. Dr. Wray was the first Dean of McNally-Smith College of Music in Minneapolis-St.Paul, where under his supervision, curriculum was created and the student bodygrew from 330 to over 500 in two years. He is currently Director of Music Business at Murray State University.

Indie Music people from all points North, South East and West will converge on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee, October 3-6, 2013 for the Independent Music Fest Nashville. There will be multiple indoor stages with live music performances. The goal of the live music portion of the event is to pair Performing Artist who need great songs with original songwriters who have the types of material the Artist are seeking.

Association members recieve two free, 3 Day General Admission Armbands to attend the 11th Nashville SongWriters Festival on Music Row to be held May 30th, 31st, June1st & 2nd, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee, 37203, so mark your calendar! 3 Day General Admission Armbands are good to visit all stages and view all performances and play at the Open Mics or Create-A-Rounds if you so desire. If you want to be scheduled to play and meet members of the Advisory Board one on one, network and ask questions we would love for you to get a "All Access Badge" and show your support the fest. "All Access" Badge holderds become "Honorary IMA Members" and receive priority status for Fest Activities and preferental treatment within the association. All festival badge holders are automatically registered to attend and participate in the various parties, music specialty needs areas and other happenings at the Fest. Go to one or all at your own pace!

Our publishing umbrella was established for you and is accepting unpublished song submissions for consideration on IMA member projects.
So whatever your affiliate is or would like to be, (we can help you decide that too), submissions are being accepted from Association Members.
