Music Shop Step Level 4.a.

A place where member projects/products are displayed to promote member sales for distribution, physical sales, digitally stored, downloaded & bulk warehoused. Where listed member project/product sales can also be recorded, tracked, fan list developed and resulting sales funds dispersed to participants.
At Music Shop we will help guide members to understanding how shops work, start their own or enroll in existing distribution networks to make sales of their product/project and more...
  • Why sell? The physical aspects and mechanics involved in presenting and selling product.
  • Music product Collection vs Single?
  • Streaming vs download.
  • Outline and structure of a typical physical and online distribution shop network.
  • Standards, requirements and procedures of Physical and Internet outlets for on point sales.
  • List of Physical Music Store locations.
  • List of online Internet Music Stores.
  • Distribution Agreements, Contracts and the like...
  • Setting up your own store for physical or internet sales.
  • How to promote your material after placed in Physical or Internet locations. Sales strategies and techniques.
  • Why products/projects can cost so much? Or... The cost break down. Factors go into overall cost, from royalties, recording, design, marketing, promotion, public relations, touring, commissions, etc.. 
  • Other royalties, mechanicals, obligations and legal requirements.
  • Typical Store splits, retail/wholesale percentages, commissions, bonuses and participation. What is reasonable and customary?
  • How to determine & compute a price that is acceptable for your project/product.
  • Accepting physical and online payments.
  • Tax requirements.
  • Tracking sales, fans, prospects, developing and maintaining list and profiles to sustain/increase sales.

Once you have successfully completed Music Shop Step/Level 4.a., you are then ready to move onto the next appropriate Step/Level as determined by your Action Plan.
